Jon Udell: Rewriting the enriched web

by Matt 26. April 2007 02:19

Bingo. Jon Udell's been joining the dots. He's made the connection between Silverlight's script-accessible object model and Javascript. In fact, he ratchets it up a notch - Greasemonkey scripts modifying Silverlight controls on a 3rd party site. That's really very powerful.

Is it actually Silverlight's secret weapon? Well, maybe not. Adobe has the Flex-Ajax Bridge, which exposes Flex and swf ActionScript to a hosting web page's Javascript. It's not as deeply integrated as in Silverlight, where it seems more of a philosophy than an implementation/component (and it looks like it's still a beta).

So, perhaps this isn't Silverlight's unique selling point, but I still think this is a great development model, and Silverlight may well prove the tipping point for this kind of design.

Printing out an essay or paper, reading the first line and realizing there aren't any mistakes.<br />AWESOME!

Well good for you! I have a lot but one I just thought of was when you lick a crease of paper so that it'll rip in a straight line and it actually tears in a frayed straight line rather than rips awkwardly. I love that bleachy taste and that bleachy satisfaction.

Times are changing and so as technology. We hope to find smart home designers using the updated technologies available in the market.

Domain name with e-mails. How would you like it if you couldn't get your e-mails through the same Vancouver Web Design you got your website from? That wouldn't feel like a professional job, it would feel like you went through one of those "easy website builders" that will ask you to put your website under their web address url. But that's usually the case when you choose the "easy" method, over the right method.
